Annual Aerospace Conference & Career Fair
The SAMA Conference is one of the largest student organized professional events held on the campus of the University of North Dakota. The conference consists of a variety of topics ranging from all facets of the professional Aerospace Industry. We invite speakers ranging from Airlines, Corporate, Air Traffic Control, the FAA, to meteorology, the NTSB, Airport/Aviation Management, and NASA. We also have a very exciting career fair that has over 30 aviation companies present!
Annual Trip to an Aviation City
In addition to understanding the aviation industry in the classroom, correlating this understanding with hands on experience provides an excellent foundation for tomorrow's leaders in aviation. Annually, the members of SAMA travel to a major aviation city to achieve that valuable experience in our dynamic industry.
Annual Odegard Open
The Annual Odegard Open golf tournament takes place at Ray Richards Golf Course early in the fall semester. The tournament is a four-person scramble with individual hole competitions. The proceeds from the Odegard Open go toward scholarships that SAMA awards to deserving UND aviation students each year. Flight Instructors, faculty, students, and friends are all welcome to participate.
42nd Street Clean-Up
SAMA adopted the 42nd Street in conjunction with Grand Forks Adopt-A-Street program. Each fall and spring, SAMA members get together to clean up the debris on 42nd Street. For ten years this has been a project of SAMA's and continues with great enthusiasm and dedication from SAMA members who donate their time. The street runs through campus between Clifford and Ryan Hall.
